Karen Ng

is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Vanderbilt University. She works on 19th and 20th century European philosophy, focusing on Hegel and German idealism, as well as Marx and critical theory. She also has interests in Kant and social and political philosophy. She is the author of Hegel’s Concept of Life: Self-Consciousness, Freedom, Logic (OUP 2020), which won the 2021 Journal of the History of Philosophy Book Prize. Between 2023 and 2025 she will be an Alexander von Humboldt Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Post-Kantian Philosophy, University of Potsdam.
